I enjoyed this movie immensely. The theatrical release was not nearly as entertaining because quite a bit of important information was cut out about the history of the Furians and Riddick in particular.
The difference in the now grown up Jack (now known as Kira) is complimentary to the Riddick anti-hero. Though she still is still extremely naive about many things.
Necromongers are a curious combination of true believers and forced believers. Someone commented somewhere that they are like the Borg and they are...conquering world after world and converting them to their way of thinking. If you don't join them you die.
They've left the end at a place that could lead to a very interesting sequel if they ever decide to do so. I've always liked the Riddick character and would love to see more!
